Hebrews 11:1 AMP
Now faith is the assurance ( title deed, conformation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].
I had known for some time that much of what we were doing had become highly subjective. There was a need for objective biblical truth. It was my desire to teach what the word said and walk in the reality of it. Within a year I had lost a hundred people out of the church. It was a very dismaying time for me. No pastor wants to see that kind of an exodus.
At the same time over that year a hundred new people came into the church. These new people had a hunger and a desire to hear the word of God taught. I realized that when the word of God is preached, the work of faith is established in the hearts of God's people. I clearly understood that faith teaching changes everything around you. There was a new trust and confidence in our church as to what God was saying.
When faith was taught that it is here and now, that element of believing caused our church to experience many memorable events. People were now believing that Jesus Christ was the same yesterday, today, and forever. They were not just reading events in the scripture that happened hundreds of years ago. The element of faith was causing it to be here and now. The word of faith was so real in the church that I could see the mind of Christ manifested in the believers. I was able to watch as their lives became a living testament of God's power in their lives. Faith brought so many of them into their destiny and gave to them a clear understanding of who they were in Christ.
I believe this message is for today. God wants us as his people to be a living testament to his power. You not only read what the scripture says, but you are living the reality of God's word. It is my prayer that we would understand and know that faith is now. It is God's will and destiny for our people to walk in it.
