Mark 4:3&14 (KJV)
“Harken (listen); Behold (look), there went out a sower to sow…The sower sowed the word.”
The future for this fledgling country was affected by the sowing of these apple seeds by this visionary man. Some thought him to be insane; but in time, as the future proved, he was a man worthy of our approval. There are even some who would dare to say that his vision was pivotal in the early history of the United States. This small act of planting apple seeds prepared the way for future settlements. In folklore he became known as Johnny Appleseed. I think I would like to be known as someone like this; a visionary who was a practical planter, a person who has the ability to see tomorrow, an individual who acted in faith, and one who knows that value of serving and blessing others.
It’s our choice if we wish to sow in faith. It’s a great term that has a strong history of making the church hear and see; moving us dramatically and dynamically forward for the harvest that God has intended. We know that our world is in desperate need. There are many hearts that need to be reached. The gospel has the vision and the strength to change us and move us forward as individuals who believe in the word of God. The call to freely give remains the same. The object and the focus should never be lost. We know the word of God makes it clear that Jesus Christ is coming soon and in anticipation of His return, our life is a life of giving. So go ahead to the kingdom of God. Bless other peoples’ lives and watch and see the profound affect that it has. Listen, look, and see the great things that God is doing.
