What we believe in our hearts and speak with our mouths is part of the whole power of salvation. I believe that good things happen to us. I believe that God’s blessings rest upon us. The question that we have at times is, Have we reached our limits? Some people believe that they never have good things happen to them. If we are in a position of God’s favour then I need to be asking myself, What doors are to open? What kind of favour will God be showing in the coming days?
In Exodus 34:10 God in response to His people says, “I will perform great wonders.” He clearly says that He will show people what He will do for them. Those are the kinds of things that need to take root in our spirit. Do you believe that God has some surprises in store for you, possibly something you have never seen before, something notable and remarkable? Is there something in your future that is bigger than anything that has happened in your past? God has done great things for us, but there is more to come and we need to be in agreement with His word.
Ephesians 2:7 says that He might clearly demonstrate. Paul also said in Ephesians 1:17 that He may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. Paul’s prayer is clear. He wanted them to understand and prayed that they would have his spirit of revelation. The word revelation means the disposition or influence to melt away the cataracts from their eyes. Paul is speaking to believers who he knew could limit themselves and what God wanted to do in their lives. God wanted to do something awesome. He had some big plans for the nation of Israel. The problem was not in Him wanting to do it, but in them not believing what He said.
That begs the question, Can we stop the awesome things that God has in store for us. Are we in any way setting limits? What is required of us? I believe that we need to be in agreement with what God has in store. If God has done it in the past, He is able. If we can look at the bible and see what He has done, it is on the way. The miracles were specific to the people’s needs and the fulfillment of God’s word to them. It is just the same today.
I would like to conclude with your consideration of Ephesians 3:20 (AMP). Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]. I would encourage you all to get ready for God’s favour. Believe for greater works. Believe that God’s glory will be revealed. Begin to thank God for His favour.
He did this] so that in the ages to come He might [clearly] demonstrate the immeasurable and unsurpassed riches of His grace in [His] kindness toward us in Christ Jesus [by providing for our redemption].
