Psalm 37:23 (AMP)
“The steps of a [good and righteous] man are directed and established by the Lord,
And He delights in his way [and blesses his path].”
How does God get us to grow? I think God is interested firstly in changing you before you can look at your circumstances differently. Have you ever found that problems are designed to keep you in them? None of us like to be stuck. We are always looking for the door of change to be opened for us. I am suggesting growing where you are planted. Give your best to where you are and what you have got. I think growing where you are planted causes seeds of change to grow into something new for you. Our verse suggested God orders your steps and He blesses your path. It may be true that you are not in a good place. It may also be true that someone is treating you badly. Yet it is true challenges have a divine purpose. Nothing in life happens to us, it happens for us. What causes hope is when we see a vision that no matter what the circumstances, God will use it for good and turn it for good.
Many struggle with the “woulda, coulda, shoulda”. "I shouldn’t be here" or "I need to get out of this" is what we quietly harbour in our hearts. For some it is often expressed verbally. In the face of this we can say right now in the midst of all of this I choose to be happy. I am only here for a season. I am a blessed person and I do grow where I am planted. I believe that happiness is a choice and it comes back to me to make a decision for good in the situation I find myself in. The situations of a life are not perfect and you know it, but decide to grow where you are. Instead of looking at the building you have, why don’t you decide to build a building you want? You build the moment you accept in your spirit where you are and then decide where you want to be. It is important that you hold your spirit to faithfulness, patience, and peace in the midst of whatever is challenging to us. In other words at the worst time you remain what you are: a light to others. That is the position for change. In your spirit know that God can and does change things, but you will not worry over what you cannot change. In light of what the bible says about you, who are you? If you have sunk down to low levels of existence, rise above it and be who you are called to be. Grow where you are planted.
