Ephesians 6:10-12 (KJV)
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
There is also that word wiles. There is a cartoon character called Wile E. Coyote. He is a bit of a trickster; always trying to pull one over on the Road Runner. Likewise, the enemy would also try to fool or deceive us with acts of deception. Remember that God has given us spiritual weaponry to stand against all of this. One of the keys to our victory is in right believing. It will always lead us to victory.
We know Satan will use lies, but we stand against the lies with the truth. We are to know the truth and the truth will make us free. Each time Satan came against Jesus with deception, our Lord answered him with the truth of God's word. Satan can only make a road into your mind where you allow him. Therefore we exert the truth of God's word, fill our minds with grace and truth, and defeat his works.
Also, the enemy will try to attack us with all sorts of accusations and condemning thoughts, making us feel guilty or causing us to feel poorly about ourselves. When we established ourselves in the truth of God's word, by knowing in our hearts and minds that we are his righteousness, we put up a huge barrier against the enemy's attacks over our minds. These attacks are called fiery darts, accusations, and untruths that try to bring us into fear and guilt. We have the mind of Christ. It is hugely effective and efficient to bring down high and lofty thoughts that stand against the knowledge of Christ. Like you, I am grateful for this provision that God has given us. The spiritual battle is decided. God tells us that our course is one of victory.
