Romans 10:17 AMP
So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).
When we hear what God says, we then have a choice to obey what we have heard and respond to it. Over our Christian experience we can ask ourselves the question what have we heard that has caused us to respond in an affirmative manner? May I ask you the question: Where does faith begin? If it has a beginning, you know where it begins and where it will take you. Abraham, our father in faith according to the scripture, heard the voice of God and began a journey. The words he heard were leave where you are and I will show you a place. After hearing that word, Abraham's choice was obedience.
In Romans 10:17 it says so then faith comes. The word comes implies movement. If that is true, we are on a journey going somewhere. Faith cannot be sat upon. It is not something that we store up, but it is something that comes to us continually. Faith has with it a work of replenishment. In the Amplified Bible Hebrews 11:2 says they were borne by faith. It is as though it lifted them up and carried them somewhere. There is nothing more exciting than living a life of faith. You can guarantee it's journey will change you and leave you forever different.
Faith is a principle element in our journey of trust. God has a destination in mind for all of us and it is our joy to start that journey and to continue in it. He is the alpha and omega of this journey. We can choose to trust Him and enjoy the ride. It is my prayer that we will all experience what God has for us in our journey of faith by a response of obedience out of our hearts to the voice of God.
